Janet M. Ruhde, 70, of Brimfield, Illinois passed away Friday, July 1, 2011, at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois.
She was born November 9, 1940, in Davenport, Iowa a daughter of William and Ruth Mary Ann Willits Ruhde. Janet graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy in 1958 and from St. Ambrose College – School of Nursing in 1962.
Janet was a registered nurse, employed by Methodist College of Nursing as a teacher until her retirement. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brimfield.
Surviving are two sisters, Sister Mary Ann Ruhde, BVM of Davenport, and Patricia M. (Fabian) Skretta of Minden, Iowa; a lifelong friend, Sister Louise Levandowski, BVM of Davenport; two nieces; four nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Davenport. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. The Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home assisted the family.
