How did you know you were being called to priesthood?

I thought about priesthood in high school, but went to a state university majoring in biology and chemistry. I taught for five years and then entered the seminary. My family’s response was: “What took him so long to decide?” I have never regretted my decision to be a priest.

Aside from your ordination Mass, what was your most memorable Mass?

My 25th anniversary Mass with my family and friends gathered to celebrate with me. The roast of me at the end of Mass was very entertaining and the parishioners of St. Joseph’s Parish, DeWitt, made my day.

What is most rewarding about being a priest?

Celebrating sacramental events in parishioners’ lives and the personal support they give me.

What is most challenging about being a priest?

Meetings and committee work.

What is your favorite Scripture passage?

Psalm 51: “Lord, open my lips and let my mouth proclaim your praise.”

What is your hobby?

Traveling and BINGO.
