Davenport — QC Catholic Young Adults Mass at 6:30 p.m. in Christ the King Chapel at St. Ambrose University. Fellowship and refreshments to follow.

Grinnell — St. Mary Parish will host a eucharistic procession and consecration of the U.S. to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus at 11:30 a.m. Bishop Dennis Walsh will preside at Mass at 10:30 a.m. and join the congregation for lunch at noon, following the procession.

Keota — A reception celebrating Father Rob Lathrop’s 25th anniversary of priesthood will take place at Holy Trinity Parish at noon, following the 10:30 a.m. Mass. Smoked pork chop dinners and children’s hot dog meals will be served. No gifts, please; cards welcome.

Sugar Creek — Ss. Mary & Joseph Parish is hosting a Corpus Christi Mass and procession at 10 a.m. Lunch to follow.

June 8
Iowa City — Wonder of Eve, a Theology of the Body program for high school girls and their mothers, will take place from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at St. Patrick Parish. The presentation will help young women understand how naturally amazing their bodies are and the impact their choices can have on their future health and fertility. June 14
Bettendorf — Father Tim Sheedy, a retired priest of the Diocese of Davenport, will celebrate the 50th anniversary of his priestly ordination during Mass at noon at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. Reception to follow.

Iowa City — Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus will serve a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m.-noon at the KC Family Center, 4776 American Legion Road. A free will donation will be accepted for the meal, which includes pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs and a drink.

June 17
Wheatland — Kathy Berken will lead a retreat, “Exploring Together the Spirituality of Our Wisdom Years: How God is ALWAYS Present,” at Our Lady of the Prairie from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Cost is $40. Register at www.theprairieretreat.org, email olpretreat@chmiowa.org or call 563-374-1092.

June 18
Davenport — QC Catholic Young Adults adoration and confession. Meet at Pancheros Mexican Grille, 902 W. Kimberly Rd., Suite 21A, at 6 p.m. for dinner, then head over to Our Lady of Victory Church for holy hour from 7-8 p.m. Confessions available from 5-7 p.m.

June 20
Iowa City — St. Patrick Parish is hosting JuneFest from 5:30-9 p.m. in the northeast parking lot. Festivities include food trucks, children’s games, music, bingo, raffles and more.

June 20-21
Nichols — The Diocese of Davenport is hosting a discernment event for teens June 20-21. This summit summer camp is for boys ages 14-18. For more information, contact Father Andrew Rauenbuehler at rauenbuehlera@diodav.org.

Rock Island, Ill. — QC Catholic Young Adults cookout is from noon-3 p.m. at St. Pius X Parish’s Farrell Hall patio (attached to the school at 24th St. and 31st Ave.). Games and food. Bring a dish or drinks to share. Meat provided. In case of bad weather, meet inside Farrell Hall.

Clinton — A summer retreat focused on continual conversion as a means of working through times of change, grief and letting go will take place at The Canticle in Clinton beginning June 28 at 6 p.m. and concluding July 1 at noon. Register by June 20 at 563-242-7611 or office @clintonfranciscans.com

Rock Island, Ill. — An icon painting workshop will take place daily from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Church. Cost is $850 and includes all painting materials. August 7-9
Davenport — Holy Family Parish’s fourth annual St. Philomena Academy Youth Camp begins Aug. 7 at 5 p.m. This overnight event includes Mass, adoration, Theology of the Body, arts and crafts, games and sports, music, and a campfire/s’mores. Register at saintphilomenaacademy.com by July 25.

Natural Family Planning courses
Learn the Couple to Couple League method of Natural Family Planning (NFP), which gives couples the knowledge to track fertility signs as a way to achieve or avoid pregnancy. NFP is the only method of family planning approved by the Catholic Church and modern, symptom-based methods demonstrate an accuracy of about 99% in identifying times of fertility and infertility, according to the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology.
