A poem for St. Wenceslaus Parish
To the Editor:
May 27th is the 130th anniversary of St. Wenceslaus Parish in Iowa City. I have written a poem for that occasion:
Today we come to pray the Rosary
Celebrating St. Wenceslaus Church’s 130th Anniversary
With God’s Divine Help and Grace
Sowing seeds for the church to embrace
With those who love God and fervent care
Our church has become God’s House of Prayer
Praise be to those who have given their generous help
God’s mission has been faithfully kept
Thank you Father Lamansky for leading our church with songs and prayers
Gently guarding our foundation with utmost care
Thank God for Your kindness and grace
Keeping our church growing with a holy pace
