‘Welcoming and Belonging’
To The Editor:
Today I received a beautiful thank you note from the family of a parishioner who recently left us for her eternal home. Pat, 88 years young, belonged to our parish for less than two years; yet she told her family this was the “friendliest, most welcoming parish” she’d ever known. I think Pat felt this way because she returned our warm welcome in kind. She joined our parish. She attended Mass regularly. She immediately joined Bible Study and became an active participant in our Altar & Rosary Society. She was a blessing to us. “Welcoming and Belonging” is a two- way street. Be a blessing like our Pat. Respond with a smile, with interest and a desire to belong.
