Effective Saturday, July 1, 2023

Rev. John D. Lamansky, relieved of present assignments as parochial vicar of Jesus Christ, Prince of Peace Parish, Clinton, and chaplain of Prince of Peace Catholic School, Clinton, and assigned as pastor of St. Wenceslaus Parish, Iowa City, without ministry to the Hispanic community at St. Patrick Parish, Iowa City, as previously published.

Rev. Joseph P. V. Phung, relieved of present assignments as pastor of Holy Family Parish, Fort Madison, and St. Joseph Parish, Montrose, and upon further review assigned as pastor of St. Mary Parish, Oskaloosa and St. Mary Parish, Pella rather than the previously published assignment.

Rev. Troy A. Richmond, relieved of present assignment as pastor of St. Mary Parish, Oskaloosa and St. Mary Parish, Pella and assigned as pastor of St. Patrick Parish, Iowa City.

Decree

Effective July 1, 2023 the Diocese of Davenport will have five deaneries overseen by five vicars forane, also called deans, to be appointed by the Bishop. The five deaneries will be: Davenport Deanery, Clinton Deanery, Iowa City Deanery, Ottumwa Deanery, and Burlington Deanery, so named for the largest population center in each of the following geographical territories.

The Davenport Deanery will consist of all the parishes in Davenport and Bettendorf in Scott County, as well as the parishes in Muscatine and Wilton in Muscatine County (12 parishes and St. Ambrose University).

The Clinton Deanery will consist of all the parishes in Clinton and Cedar Counties, as well as the parishes in Long Grove and LeClaire in Scott County (14 parishes).

The Iowa City Deanery will consist of all the parishes in Johnson, Washington, Louisa, and Iowa Counties, except for the parish in North English (because of the clustering of parishes), as well as the parishes in West Liberty and Nichols in Muscatine County (17 parishes and the Newman Catholic Student Center).

The Ottumwa Deanery will consist of all the parishes in Jasper, Poweshiek, Marion, Mahaska, Keokuk, Monroe, Wapello, Appanoose, and Davis Counties, as well as the parish in North English in Iowa County (20 parishes).

The Burlington Deanery will consist of all the parishes in Jefferson, Henry, Des Moines, Van Buren, and Lee Counties (11 parishes).
