DAVENPORT — A young man whose life was changed by being a part of the Humility of Mary Housing program will speak at the organization’s Jazz Brunch Sept. 25. The event will take place at Crow Valley Golf Club from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. The theme and menu items will be centered around a French Bistro with entertainment featuring the jazz stylings of Margaret Murphy Ensemble from Chicago. Guests can participate in a live auction.
Humility of Mary Housing, Inc (HMHI) has served 823 families including 1,615 children during its 26-year history. Each family has its own furnished apartment; parents work with a staff of social workers in setting goals in education and/or job training; they get help to improve various life skills, such as budgeting, parenting, nutrition and housecleaning.
