Bishop Martin Amos invites you to attend the annual Chrism Mass of the Diocese of Davenport on Monday, March 14, at 5 p.m. in Sacred Heart Cathedral, Davenport, the mother church of the diocese.

An annual celebration of faith, unity and commitment, the Chrism Mass brings together the priests, deacons, bishops and lay people of the diocese. During this Mass, Bishop Amos blesses the oils used in the sacramental life of the diocesan church: the oil of the sick, the oil of the catechumen and the Sacred Chrism. Also during the Chrism Mass, the priests of the diocese renew their priestly commitment.

Want to know more about why the Chrism Mass is so important? Bishop Amos explains in his new monthly video series. To see his response, go to www.catholicmessenger.net and click “Bishop Amos – Questions & Answers” on the left side menu.
