The Center for Worker Justice of Eastern Iowa organized this July 15 rally on behalf of workers of Hy-Brand outside the parent company, Brandt Construction in Milan, Ill. Workers and their supporters, including representatives of the Social Action Office of the Diocese of Davenport, have requested meetings with company executives to address concerns about work conditions in Muscatine.
“All they want is the ability to earn for their families and make it home at the end of the day safe,” said Marshall Douglas of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 150.
