How did you know you were being called to the diaconate?
In 2002, Father (David) Wilkening asked me one day if I had ever considered being a deacon. I really did not know what a deacon in the Catholic Church did, but from that conversation I began taking Ministry Formation Program (MFP) courses which led me to candidacy.
