Delores M. Saunders, 78, went to be with our Lord and Savior on December 2, 2012 at the Northeast Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.  She was a wonderful and caring Mother, Grandmother and Friend to all who knew her.  She was of the Catholic faith.

The funeral will be held at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, downtown Davenport, Iowa, on Saturday, December 8th at 12:00.  Private visitation will be at 10am the day of the funeral and at 11am for the public.  Graveside services will be at Davenport Memorial Park immediately after the service.  Lee Memorial Funeral Home of Tupelo will be handling arrangements for a memorial service in Tupelo on Saturday, December 15th.

She was born on December 24, 1933 in Davenport, Iowa, a daughter of Charles and Ethel (Glaudel) Bitterman.

Survivors include her children; son Wallace (Mary) Quandt, Jr. of Saltillo, MS and two daughters, Brenda (John) Kannady of Denver,Colo and Cheryl (Cleve) Bramlett of Belden, MS.  A brother, David (Patricia) Bitterman of Davenport, sisters-in-law Kittie (Jerry) Mooney of Houston,TX and Geraldine (Monty) Beckley and Judy Bitterman of Davenport, IA.  Her Grandchildren:  Maurine (Jim) Dare, Monica Kannady, John (Katie) Kannady II, all of Denver, Colo., Wayne (Candice) Easterling of Marietta, MS, and Rachel Easterling of Belmont, MS.  Great Grandchildren:  Kenneth, Shaun and Naomi Kannady of Denver; Cory and Justin Lovelace of Belmont, MS and Chloe Easterling of Marietta, MS.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Wallace Quandt, Sr. and Weldon T. Saunders and her brothers Richard and Glenn Bitterman.

Pallbearers will be the five grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
