To the Editor:
I wanted to thank you for bringing to light the pope’s recent Doctrinal Assessment of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious; this touches me deeply as I believe nuns have provided the stability needed to get through the horrific scandal that has surrounded the Catholic Church with the chilling stories of abuse by priests.
In spite of all of this, our nuns have continued to do works of mercy, teaching, helping the poor, caring for the sick, doing parish work, whatever is needed. Please keep this issue in the forefront and not bury it. We need to support our nuns who have always been there in support of us.
