Please add my name to the people supporting Father Richard McBrien.
His column is enlightening, erudite and sensible. The Catholic Church has lagged behind civilization in many ways and years as seen in the treatment of women as second-class citizens and unworthy of being ordained or even in some places serving as altar girls (ask my four daughters).
His column is the first one I read each week. Let’s appreciate his work and have an open mind and common sense.
