Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Catherine M. Milder, 91, of Davenport will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1923 Fillmore St. Davenport.

Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main St., downtown Davenport. A prayer service will be offered at 4:00 p.m. to begin the visitation all are welcome to attend.  Catherine passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf following a brief illness. 

Catherine Marie Schloemer was born April 25, 1920 in Davenport, Iowa the daughter of Edwin and Clara (Schebler) Schloemer. She was united in marriage to Louis B. Milder on June 6, 1945 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Davenport. He preceded her in death December 27, 2000.

Mrs. Milder was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Christian Mother’s Society of the former St. Joseph’s Church and Plus 60. Her greatest joy was raising her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Marquette Academy or a charity of your choice.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House and especially to Kathy Tomsha for the exceptional care given to their mother.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son Joseph Milder, Phoenix, Arizona, a daughter Mary (Matthew) Feeney, Eldridge; grandchildren Aaron (Kristen) Feeney, Maggie Feeney, and Lina Marie Milder; a sister Mary Bell, Moline and a brother Joe (Bernie) Schloemer, Davenport and many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Gerald Milder and a brother Walter Schloemer. May they rest in peace.
