Rita L. Day, 91, a resident of Davenport, went to her heavenly Father on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Rita will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov.10, 2010 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 4105 N. Division St., Davenport. Rita was born at her parent’s home on the farm in East Pleasant Plain, Iowa on July 14, 1919, a daughter of Frank and Bertha (Fritz) Pacha. At the age of 18, Rita came to Davenport to attend business school. Here she met Harold Day, of Centerville, Iowa and they were wed on July 31, 1937. Their union produced four children.

Rita worked for Palmer College of Chiropractic, J.I. Case Company, Bendix Aviation, and retired from Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company. After the death of her husband in 1987, Rita made several trips to Medjugorje in honor of our Blessed Mother, and until she could no longer drive, she attended Mass on a daily basis.
