Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial for David F. Lammers, 59, a resident of Davenport will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 417 Main Street, downtown Davenport. 

There will be a prayer service at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home to begin the visitation.  The family will greet friends following the prayer service until 7 p.m.  Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

David died peacefully Saturday, October 9, 2010 at his residence in Davenport following a lengthy illness and battle with diabetes.  He was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing.

David Frederick Lammers was born June 22, 1951 in Davenport, a son of Donald Frederick and Patricia Ann (Byrnes) Lammers.  He was united in marriage to Rebecca Jean Cruchelow on June 24, 1972 in Davenport.

 David was a lifelong resident of Davenport and a graduate of Central High School and St. Ambrose College.  He had been employed by the State of Iowa with Iowa District Courts as a Program Analyst retiring in September 2009 due to health reasons.

He was a member of  St. Anthony’s Church, and had been a volunteer for Friends of Vanderveer.  David was also proud to have served our community as a member of the Planning and Zoning Committee for the City of Davenport.

He cherished the time spent with his family, he was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association, or Friends of Vanderveer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Rebecca, his children and their spouses, Beth and Gabe Schipper, Davenport,  Katie and Rob Arnold, Louisville, KY., Melissa and Paul Flores, Orlando, FL, and Edward Lammers, Bettendorf; five beloved grandchildren, Jon, Emily, Abe, Eli and Leo; his mother Patricia Lammers, Davenport, his sisters and their spouses,  Theresa and Gary Hansen, Davenport, Susan Lammers, Davenport, Margaret Lammers, Fairport, NY, Anne and Kevin Farrell, Davenport, Barbara and Gene McGivern, Eagan, MN; brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward  and Sheryl Lammers, Davenport, Paul and Carol Lammers, Mt. Joy, IA, and Steven and Patricia Lammers, Wausau, WI.

Dave was preceded in death by his father, and a sister, Mary Elizabeth. May they rest in peace.
