Private family service for Vernice V. DeCarnot, 99, a resident of Davenport, will be held with burial in the National Cemetery, Rock Island, Ill. Mrs. DeCarnot died April 14, 2010 at the residence of her daughter, Norma Bass, after a brief illness. Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Vernice V. Davis was born Feb. 21, 1911 in Shelbina, Mo. She was united in marriage to Jene DeCarnot. He preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 1978.
Vernice is survived by her daughter, Norma C. Bass, grandchildren, Paul Arbuckle, Virginia Brewer, and Gene Bass, all of Davenport, and four great-grandchildren.
