Interest high in Assumption’s new Worship Team

In recent years, student surveys have pointed to a desire for greater participation in liturgical celebrations. To help students fulfill this interest, AHS started a worship team this year.

Students on the Worship Team help to plan and prepare for school Masses and other worship services. Among other things, they aid in the selection of songs and serve as readers and song leaders during Mass.

The Assumption class schedule includes a 20 minute homeroom period on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so Worship Team members are placed in the same homeroom to aid in liturgical planning. Interest has been so strong that Worship Team homeroom was expanded to two sections during second semester. The school is excited by the interest and hopes it will become a tradition.
