Richard Paul Brown was born Nov. 25, 1964, in Davenport to Edwin and Marjorie (Marriott) Brown. Richard proudly served our country in the U.S. Army. He was united in marriage to Erin McGinnis on Nov. 22, 1997 at Progressive Baptist Church in Davenport.
In everything he did and offered, Richard embodied loyalty, kindness, joy and celebration. His love showed up in a random drop-off of cupcakes, cookies or a pot of something spicy, straight from his kitchen and directly from his heart. Empathy and generosity emanated from his soul, his being, his pores. Richard expressed the most authentic gestures of kindness and selflessness to friends, family, even people he didn’t know. If you had five minutes to get to know him, he considered you a friend for life. All kids who knew him loved him. People and relationships were always front and center. Richard also had a sense of humor.
Survivors include his wife Erin; and their children, Timothy, Tiah, Alexia and Devon; his two grandchildren, Malikai and Rya Lynn; his father, Ed; his 10 siblings and their spouses, Mike (Barb), Patrick (Robin), Mary (Samuel), Theresa, Sheila (Chris), Roger (Maria), Steve (Mandy), Ann Marie (Bruce), Thomas (Gisele), David (Maggie); numerous loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie on Nov. 11, 2009.
