A business teacher at Regina Junior/Senior High School in Iowa City was placed on administrative leave Feb. 25, the same day he was arrested on charges of third-degree sexual abuse and supplying alcohol to a minor.

Robert Dolan of Olin, who has taught for nearly three years at Regina, was arrested following an investigation into a Jan. 9 incident in Jones County. According to the Jones County Sheriff’s office, Dolan allegedly brought beer to the home of a 17-year-old male, who later passed out. He awoke to find Dolan fondling him, a criminal complaint states.

The teen is not a Regina student, the sheriff’s office told the school.

Dolan requested a leave of absence from Regina, President Carol Trueg said. He is being held on $50,000 bail at the Jones County Jail.
