DAVENPORT — The Art Legacy League (ALL) announces an open house at its new location, 1225 East River Drive, # 201, on Nov. 20 beginning at 3 p.m. ALL’s sponsor, Molly Newell, owner of ONE RIVER PLACE and EnviroNET, will host the event. The Quad Cities Chamber will cut the ribbon at 4 p.m. The ribbon cutting will take place outside in compliance with the state of Iowa’s COVID-19 safety guidelines.

The Art Legacy League features the artwork of the late Father Edward Catich throughout the building, including slate inscriptions, calligraphic broadsides, watercolors of serene European vistas along with river scenes dotted with landscapes and buildings. Father Catich’s abstract expressionist work will also be on exhibit.

Guests will see demonstrations of calligraphy, stone incising and watercolor during the open house. Visit the ALL classroom studio and try your hand at water coloring or the art of stone cutting.

“The Art Legacy League is a great asset to our community. Other small businesses in the building are excited to view the fabulous variety of art now staged in the lobbies and corridors,” Newell said. “We all look forward to opportunities to engage in art classes like drawing, calligraphy, painting and art history. We are blessed to have the proteges of the world-renowned educator, calligrapher and artist, Father Edward Catich, in our building.”
