Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
The theme for the Collection for the Church in Latin America is Share Your Faith.
Sharing the stories of how collections impact the faithful in other countries is important. This collection helps to share the faith in regions like the mountainous Andahuaylas Province of Peru, where most of the people of the Talavera District speak Quechua. To better minister to these people, the parish of Santiago Apostol initiated a project to prepare Quechua-language audiovisual materials related to evangelization and Sacred Scripture. The parish also created digital materials and furnished a room to serve as a library to store these and other resources.
The annual national Collection for the Church in Latin America will be the weekend of May 3-4. The 2020 campaign highlights the faith of the people of Latin America and the many opportunities we have to share faith with them.
We recognize the tremendous gift our Latin American brothers and sisters are to the church, and the revitalization their fervor brings to the faith. In addition to offering our help and support to the Catholics of Latin America, they have much to share with us.
Please be generous in praying for the Church in Latin America and in contributing to this collection. Your support will truly make a difference.
