Roe v Wade anniversary events planned

The following groups will mark the 47th anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton Supreme Court decisions that legalized abortion virtually on demand in the United States.

Bettendorf: The Women’s Choice Center will host its annual candlelight vigil Jan. 22 from 7-8 p.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 3775 Middle Road.
Iowa City: Johnson County Right to Life will host “Prayer, Dinner and a Movie” Jan. 18 from 6-8 p.m. in the St. Mary Parish Hall. The film “Unplanned” will be shown following the prayer service and chili supper. To RSVP for dinner, visit www.jcrtl.org.

Fort Madison: North Lee County Right to Life will host its annual March for Life at 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 25. The march starts at 10th Street and Avenue F about 10:15 a.m. The procession continues to McAleer Hall. Refreshments will be served in the hall following the walk. People who are unable to walk may join the walkers in the hall.
