DAVENPORT — A celebration of life to support pro-life ministries will take place Aug. 12 at St. Ambrose University. The seventh annual Black and White Gala will feature Mass, a silent auction, gourmet dining, raffles and opportunities to learn about pro-life ministries. This year’s host parish is Holy Family-Davenport.
Bishop Martin Amos will celebrate Mass at 5:30 p.m. in Christ the King Chapel on campus. Following Mass, bagpipers will lead participants to the Rogalski Center. Last year the event moved to St. Ambrose due to growing support. Positive response led planners to host the event again at the university.
Some of the raffle prizes include a weeklong vacation at a Wyndham Resort, a caricature of a favorite group, contemporary lighting for home or office and a voucher for $250 for gas or food.
The event is $30 per person by Aug. 5 by contacting Brad Merritt at (563) 529-1820 or by email at
bcmerritt@mchsi.com, or Sandi Hansen at (563) 445-6442 or samiam2625@yahoo.com. Contact Hansen to sponsor a table for clergy or religious, to donate a gift or service for the silent auction or to buy raffle tickets.
