Afghanistan volunteer to speak

Coralville — Afghan Peace Volunteer Kathy Kelly will speak at St. Thomas More Parish April 30 after the 5:15 p.m. Mass. She has lived alongside Afghan people in Kabul. She and her companions with Voices for Creative Nonviolence believe that where you stand determines what you see. They oppose all forms of war and help educate people about the cost of war and the price of peace. She is the author of “Other Lands have Dreams, from Baghdad to Pekin Prison.” She has been nominated three times for the Nobel Peace Prize.
