Quad-City area businesses/organizations are invited to educate eighth-graders in Scott County Catholic schools about possible careers.
The schools are organizing the fifth annual career fair to be held March 4 in the Rogalski Center at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, said Meecheeca McNeal, counselor at All Saints Catholic School in Davenport. Eighth-grade students from Lourdes Catholic School in Bettendorf and All Saints, John F. Kennedy and St. Paul the Apostle Catholic schools in Davenport will attend.
“We would like to extend the opportunity for area businesses, employers, colleges/universities, health care professionals, law enforcement agencies and various career-related organizations to join us,” she said.
Presenters need to be available from 8:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. during the career fair. Employers should bring visual displays (posters, videos, equipment) in addition to providing information about duties, professional expectations, required education and training, technology, general salary range and other aspects of their work. Hands-on equipment pertaining to the career is encouraged.
Students will rotate in groups and complete a career questionnaire about each booth they visit.
