IOWA CITY — Massimo Faggioli, director of the Institute for Catholicism and Citizenship at The University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, will speak on “Vatican II, Pope Francis and The Church in the Modern World” Nov. 1 at the Newman Catholic Student Center. The presentation begins at noon.
Faggioli is an internationally recognized expert on the Second Vatican Council. The author of 11 books and over 90 articles, he will be exploring the way in which the Spirit of Vatican II is alive in the pontificate of Pope Francis, and where the church may be moving with respect to contemporary global issues.
