DAVENPORT — Christ the King Chapel at St. Ambrose University will be one of six stops on the third annual “Altar Crawl” on May 3.
The event, scheduled from 1-5 p.m., is sponsored by the Hilltop Campus Village and the participating churches are members of PUNCH (People Uniting Neighbors and Churches).
Joining Christ the King on the tour circuit are Bethel AME, First Baptist, First Christian, St. John United Methodist and Trinity Episcopal Cathedral.
According to the Hilltop Campus Village, all of the churches are home to some of Davenport’s earliest communities of faith.
Father Chuck Adam, chaplain of Christ the King Chapel, said the chapel community is glad to be part of the open house and welcomes participants of the altar crawl. “We are happy to do it.”
Tours of the chapel will be offered. Photos of the old chapel and renovations will be on display.
Those wishing to tour can start at any church. The event is free and open to the public. No tickets required. A map and further information will be available online May 1 at www.hilltopcampus
village.org.
