IOWA CITY — Lee Iben, president of Regina Catholic Schools has submitted his resignation.
In a note to Regina families, friends, faculty and students, Iben said, “I’m writing to inform you that over the weekend I submitted my resignation to Dr. Jim Nepola, chairman of the Regina Board of Education, effective immediately. I have hit an impasse with the Board of Education and my resignation appears to be the only possible resolution in order to move the mission of Regina forward.
“I have enjoyed directing the efforts of Regina the past three and a half years and will continue to pray for the dedicated administrators, faculty, and staff and the work they perform daily on behalf of our Catholic community.”
