To the editor:
In the Sept. 25 Catholic Messenger I found it interesting to compare Cardinal George Pell’s statements (Page 7) with Father Ron Rolheiser’s column on Page 8. I have been reading a lot about this topic in Commonweal and America magazines.
I think Pope Francis and Cardinal Walter Kasper are on to something. I only wish Cardinal Pell could listen to what they are saying and (to quote Rolheiser) leave the defense to history and to God.
