CORALVILLE — How can people view world events through a Christian, hope-filled perspective when inundated with sadness, violence and suffering? How do Christians trust in God’s promises during difficult times?
Seek answers to these questions at the 10th annual St. Thomas More Mini-Retreat, “Hope in a Discouraging World” on Saturday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to noon at St. Thomas More Church.
The keynote speakers are Father Thomas Doyle and Mary Potter Kenyon. Fr. Doyle of Coralville is a retired priest who’s worked in the Davenport Diocese for 52 years. Mary Potter Kenyon of Manchester is the author of “Chemo-Therapist: How Cancer Cured A Marriage” and the upcoming “Refined by Fire: A Journey of Grief & Grace.”
To attend or help at the retreat, contact Carol Lyon at (319) 338-9290 jclyon5@msn.com. A suggested retreat donation is $10.
An optional lunch ($10) will be catered at noon by Zio Johno’s Spaghetti House from North Liberty. Pre-register for lunch by April 22.
