CONFERENCES
Davenport – Father Bill Kneemiller has reserved a chartered bus for March 29, headed to St. Francis Parish in West Des Moines for the Iowa Men’s Conference. The bus will leave from Davenport, with a stop at St. Patrick Parish in Iowa City to pick up participants. The trip costs $30 for travelers leaving from Davenport and $22 for Iowa City travelers. EDUCATIONAL
Burlington – The CAFÉ (Catholic Adult Fellowship Evening) will be open in the Notre Dame cafeteria from 6:45-8 p.m. April 2 as Andi Lewis discusses the  Prairiewoods Franciscan Spirituality Center of Hiawatha.
Clinton – Peace Soup sessions will take place at St. Boniface Center, 2520 Pershing Boulevard, Tuesdays at 6 p.m. during Lent. The events include free soup suppers and presentations on world religions and their paths to peacemaking. April 1 is Islam and April 8 is Christianity.
Davenport –  Father Don Goergen, OP, will speak on “Teilhard de Chardin: Scientist, Priest, Mystic” (1881-1955) during a fundraiser for Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat on April 4 at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church. Davenport – On March 27, Father Robert Grant will present “Ecocide: Violence and the Environment” at 7 p.m. in the Rogalski Center at St. Ambrose University.
Davenport – Journalist and author Cokie Roberts will visit St. Ambrose Univer­sity’s Christ the King Chapel March 28 from 10-11:30 a.m. She will speak about founding mothers and courageous Sisters in U.S. history.
Davenport – St. Ambrose University invites students entering seventh or eighth grade to Health Careers Adventure Camp July 21-25 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Local health care facilities and fitness agencies will help students explore various health professions. Cost is $200 until July 1 and $225 after July 1. Scholarships are available. Dubuque – “Dubuque’s Got Sisters!” is an experience for those exploring a call to become a Catholic Sister. Sisters will accompany participants on a 24-hour tour of four tri-state area convents and share experiences through praying, dining and storytelling. There is no fee. LeClaire – “Death Over Dinner,” an overview of advance care planning for health care, is April 8 from 6:15-7:45 p.m. at Our Lady of the River Parish. Rapids City, Ill. – Teresa Tomeo will lead a mission of mercy, “In Search of Truth” at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church March 29 and 30. Schedule for March 29 is 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 30 is 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Cost is $20 for both days, $15 for Saturday or $10 for Sunday. Clergy get in free. RETREATS
Coralville – St. Thomas More Parish’s Lenten renewal/retreat is March 31 to April 2.  Brother Robert Sylvester, JD, C.S.C. will present.  The theme is taken from Ash Wednesday’s Epistle reading:  “We are ambassadors for Christ.”  On each day is 9 a.m. Mass and a talk, then 7 p.m. prayer and a talk. Melrose — The Knights of Columbus of Albia sponsor a 24-hour adoration the first Friday of the month at St. Patrick Church in Melrose. Moline, Ill. – The Secular Discalced Carmelite Community of St. Joseph and the Prophet Elijah invites people to join in the study of prayer in the tradition of St. Teresa of Avila and St. John of the Cross. Clinton — All Fridays through April 11, St. Edwards Knights of Columbus Council will hold fish fries from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at St. Boniface Hall, 2520 Pershing Blvd. Cost for meals of white fish is $9 for adults, $5 for children 3-12 years old and free for children younger than 3. Seven jumbo shrimp cost $10.

Nichols – Knights of Columbus Council 3189 will hold a pork loin dinner March 30 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Parish Hall. Cost is $8 per person or $15 per couple.
Oxford – The Knights of Columbus will hold a fish/shrimp supper on April 4 at St. Mary Hall from 5-8 p.m. Cost for adults is $9 for fish or $11 for shrimp. Cost for children 12 and under is $5 for fish or $7 for shrimp.
West Liberty – The Knights of Columbus of St. Joseph’s Parish will hold fish fries on March 28 and April 11 in the Parish Life Center.  Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 5-12, and free for children under 5.
