Burlington — “Sacred Heart of Jesus, A True Love Story” will be presented by Father James Kubicki, SJ. The national director of the Apostleship of Prayer will make his presentation Saturday, Feb. 15, from 9-11 a.m. at St. Paul Church, 508 N. Fourth St. Registration and light breakfast start at 8:30 a.m. The event is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. All are welcome and there is a free-will offering.

Burlington – The CAFÉ (Catholic Adult Fellowship Evening) will be open in the Notre Dame School cafeteria at 6:45 p.m. Jan. 29 for “Faith in Daily Life:  Sports”  with Father Marty Goetz and Jennifer Goetz.

Iowa City – The Newman Center scholars will present their seminars Feb. 2 and 9 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Newman Catholic Student Center. Pre­senters for Feb. 2 are Katherine Cobb on “Scrupulosity,” Jessica Kohler on “Catholicism and the Classics in the Classroom” and Alex Iben Cahill on “Heroic Catholics in Academia.” Presenters for Feb. 9 are Mary Springer on “Architectural Styles of Area Catholic Chur­ches,” Brian Prugh on “What Makes a Work of Art Catholic” and Robert Soto on “World of Numbers.”

Rock Island, Ill. – “Remembering Jesus,” a multi-week DVD series on a Catholic approach to Alzheimer’s disease, will begin Feb. 2 at St. Pius X Catholic Church from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in Farrell Hall. A schedule of future dates will be distributed on Feb 2. Suggested donation is $5.

Newton – A free Vibrant Faith @ Home PLUS workshop will aim to give parish leaders tools to empower families to grow in faith at home. LITURGY/PRAYER
Melrose — The Knights of Columbus of Albia sponsor a 24-hour adoration the first Friday of the month at St. Patrick Church in Melrose. Clinton – Prince of Peace Parish invites adults to Christian Experience Weekends Feb. 14-16 for women and Feb. 28 to March 2 for men at Prince of Peace Catholic School. DeWitt – TEC (Teens Encounter Christ), a retreat for 11th-12th graders, will be held Feb. 15-17 at St. Joseph Parish. Coralville — The Stephen Ministry group at St. Thomas More Church is sponsoring “Promises of Marriage,” an evening of ideas, stories and activities that will help you celebrate your relationship. VOLUNTEERING
Clinton – Mercy Hospice, a service of Mercy Medical Center, needs volunteers to spend time with terminally ill patients.  Hospice volunteers perform various tasks such as baking goodies, reading, playing music or providing companionship.
