
BETTENDORF — L.I.F.E. Ministry at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish conducted a poster contest during Respect Life Month in October at Lourdes Catholic School.
Students won prizes in first, second, third and honorable-mention categories. All participants from fifth through eighth grade received a Tootsie Roll donated by Lourdes’ Knights of Columbus Bernadette Council. Part of the council’s ongoing campaign is to assist those in the community with intellectual disabilities — an important part of respecting life.
Eighth-grade winners: Karly Britt, first; Ryan Quinn, second; Joseph Starr, third; and Sam Moore, Ethan Wallace and Megan Wilmott, honorable mention.
Seventh-grade (7a) winners: Emma VanSeveren, first; Denise Cabrera, second; Olivia Leinart, third; and Alex Foley, Olivia Lansing and Brennan Harrington, honorable mention.
Seventh-grade (7b) winners: Jeremy McIntosh, first; Emily Merritt, second; Melanie Comer, third; and Karlee Grenier, Christina Roa and Madelyn Mayeski, honorable mention.
Sixth-grade winners: Sam Cotton, first; Jade Knerr, second; Jack McIntosh, third; and Tony Broggini and Hannah Lerch, honorable mention.
Fifth-grade (5a) winners: Parker Foley, first; Hallie Weaver, second; Sarah Arnold, third; and Ann Quijas, Logan Ehrecke and Marian Camacho, honorable mention.
