ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Sister Cabrini Rael OSB, 85, of St. Mary Monastery died Oct. 14 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity.
Cabrini Rael was born April 25, 1928 in Puerto de Luna, New Mexico. She graduated from St. Ambrose College in Davenport and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in education.
Sr. Rael entered the Benedictine community Dec. 8, 1948 and made her final profession as a Benedictine Sister on June 24, 1953. Her ministry included teaching school at St. Mary’s, Moline; St. Boniface, Peoria; St. John, Bradford; Holy Family, Peoria; St. Columba, Chicago; Immaculate Conception, Monmouth; Ss. Peter & Paul, Nauvoo, Ill.
A Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Thursday in the Chapel of St. Mary Monastery, 2200 88th Ave. W., Rock Island. Burial is at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to St. Mary Monastery.
