To the Editor:
It is regrettable that Frank Wessling’s editorial (Oct. 3, The Catholic Messenger) did not mention that many Americans were called to stop and to defeat barbaric fascism in captive nations, such as Korea, China, France, Poland, etc. My dad and an uncle were innocent civilians until called to arms in 1942. Their mission: to free innocent civilians in all those captive nations. With thousands of other Americans they were both KIA.
