Lecture, discussion to explore religious freedom

DAVENPORT —The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services mandates issued pursuant to the Affordable Care Act have ignited debate about religious liberty. On Tuesday, Sept. 17, in the Rogalski Center, St. Ambrose University will present a panel discussion and lecture on this issue, with special reference to the legal and constitutional background that the courts will apply in deciding cases challenging the mandates.
Both events will feature Associate Professor of Political Science Carson Holloway, University of Nebraska, Omaha.
The panel discussion “Religious Liberty and the U.S. Constitution” is 12:30-2 p.m. The lecture: “Sustaining Religious Liberty: The Health and Human Services Mandate and the First Amendment” is at 7 p.m.
