David Walsh Lundy, Sr., 73, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa, died unexpectantly on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 during a visit to Steamboat Springs, Colorado. A Memorial Mass will be offered Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 422 E. 10th Street, Davenport. Per David’s wishes, cremation rites were accorded. Private burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour before the Memorial Service at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
David Walsh Lundy, Sr. was born April 19, 1940 in Spokane, Washington, a son of A. Linton and Kathleen Walsh Lundy, Jr. He was united in marriage to Mary Waterman on September 2, 1967 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Davenport.
David attended St. Vincent’s Parochial Grade School, St. Ambrose Academy and the University of Nevada, graduating with a B.S. in Economics. He worked at Northwestern Steel Wire in the Industrial Engineering department and was with Midwest Metals until 1967. He has been in the real estate business since 1967 and was most recently with ReMax River Cities Realtors.
David had served on the board of directors for the Handicapped Development Center, Niabi Zoo, Friendly House, the Family Y, Bettendorf Development and the Lundy Corporation. He was a member of the Bettendorf Chamber of Commerce and the Davenport Chamber of Commerce. David belonged to the Crow Valley Golf Club, Union League Club of Chicago, Croatian Club of Moline, Harley HOGS Club and the Rod & Gun Club. David was extremely proud of his two holes-in-one. He enjoyed spending time with friends, family and dog, Duke, and riding his Harley.

Survivors include sons, David (Ann) Lundy, Jr., St. Paul, MN and Peter (Elsa) Lundy, San Francisco, CA.; 6 grandchildren, Ryan, Windsor, Ava, and Evelyn Lundy, Madeline Sadowski and Devon Byers; sisters, Gay Lundy, Cincinnati, OH and Kathleen Lundy, Salt Lake City, UT; brothers, Curtis Lundy, Bettendorf, IA and Scrap Lundy, Santa Barbara, CA, and his dog, Duke.
David was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Tom and Stephen. May they rest in peace.
