Davenport – Eagles’ Wings Retreat Center will host the following classes. On June 15 at 9:30 a.m. is a Biblical counseling course — continuation of section two of a series.  Topics are “Heart Matters: Repentance and Godly Sorrow” and “For­giveness: Letting Go of Past and Pain.”  Please call (563) 324-7263 for information about attending. Registration is $40. From June 24-28 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily is an icon workshop with iconographer Leanne Spacek. Iowa City – Sister Jane Dominic Laurel, O.P., an assistant professor of theology at Aquinas College in Nashville, will present “Masculinity & Femininity: Difference and Gift” at St. Patrick Parish Hall on June 28 at 7 p.m. The talk is aimed at teens and young adults, but all are invited. LITURGY/PRAYER
Bettendorf – A centering prayer support group meets at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish on Monday mornings at 9 a.m. For more information call Jul at (563) 355-0611.
Davenport – St. Paul the Apostle Parish will hold a memorial prayer service June 23 at 12:30 p.m. in the Elizabeth Ministry Memorial Garden for people who have lost children due to miscarriage, abortion, stillbirth or other causes.
Davenport —  A healing Mass will be celebrated June 21 at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Confessions start at 6 p.m., praise music at 6:30 p.m., and Mass at 7:15 p.m.
Davenport — The Sisters of Humility invite the general public to pray with them at 11:40 a.m. Wednes­days during a special Mass for peace. It will be celebrated in the Magnificat Chapel at the Humility of Mary Center, 820 W. Central Park Ave.
Iowa City — People meet to pray the rosary and receive Com­munion at 1 p.m. Wednesdays at Mel­rose Meadows Retire­ment Community. All Catholics are welcome.
Iowa City — Centering prayer groups meet from 7-8 p.m. Mondays at the Mercy Hospital chapel, and from 9-11:30 a.m. the fourth Saturday of each month at a member’s home. For more information, call Maureen Kelley at (319) 338-8284.
Melrose — The Knights of Columbus of Albia sponsor a 24-hour adoration the first Friday of the month at St. Patrick Church in Melrose. Davenport —  Eagles’ Wings will host Soaking With a Purpose prayer meetings on June 14 and 28 at 7 p.m. The meetings include praise and worship, a brief teaching, sharing and prayer.
MEETINGS
Moline, Ill. – The Secular Discalced Carmelite Community of St. Joseph and the Prophet Elijah invites people to join in the study of prayer in the tradition of St. Teresa of Avila and St. John of the Cross. RETREATS
Wheatland —  Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat  invites people to the following events. From June 14 at 7 p.m. to June 20 at 10 a.m. is “A Week in Retreat.” Begin the week with reflection on the Gospel stories of compassion and continue your own reflection or sharing with a guide. Spiritual direction is available for $50 a session. Fee: $375. From June 21 at 7 p.m. to June 22 at 3 p.m. is “Spiritual Pilgrimage” with Pastor Dianne Prichard. Develop a greater sensitivity to God’s presence and inspiration, learn basic spiritual disciplines, and experience ways to read Scripture. Fee: $100. Bettendorf – A taco night fundraiser for Quad Cities Interfaith will be June 25 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Azteca 3 Restaurant, 2400 Spruce Hills Drive. Cost is $10 per person. Reserve tickets by calling (563) 322-4910.
Davenport – Our Lady of Victory Parish’s rummage sale will take place in the JFK School gym June 13-14 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and June 15 from 8 a.m. to noon. The sale includes housewares, furniture, clothes, toys, books and more.
Davenport — The resale shop Cinderella Cellar, 230 W. 35th St., is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Kahl Home. Cinderella Cellar is operated by volunteers from the Catholic Service Board.
Iowa City —  The Diocese of Davenport’s Catholic Young Adult Network invites 18-39-year-olds to its second annual Mass and barbecue on July 14 at St. Patrick Church. Mass will be celebrated at 3:30 p.m. in the day chapel, and a cookout and games will follow. Bring a side dish to share. For more information, email davenportcyan@gmail.com.
Welton – St. Anne’s annual parish dinner of beef and grilled chicken with a salad bar will be June 30 at Buzzy’s from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost is $9 for adults, and $5 for children ages 5-12 and free for children younger than 5. There will be cash drawings.
