Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
Be a Pilgrim of Charity is the theme of the 2013 Peter’s Pence Collection for the Works of the Holy Father which will be taken up the weekend of June 29-30.
Charity bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. (1 Cor 13:7)
There are many places around the globe where the Church struggles to be a visible sign of charity, but thankfully, the Holy Father is the pilgrim of charity for Catholics everywhere. In poor dioceses where many depend on the Church for social and pastoral support, in regions where Catholics are persecuted for their faith; and in nations overloaded with refugees or victims of war and natural disasters, the works done by the Holy Father help the Church extend charity to those most in need.
The Peter’s Pence Collection gives us the opportunity to be pilgrims of charity and to extend a sign of peace to the Body of Christ around the world. Our gifts to this annual collection help the Holy Father to strengthen dioceses, religious orders, and struggling communities of faith when they need it most.
I ask you to be a pilgrim of charity and to give generously to this special collection for the charitable works of Pope Francis who depends on our support. Together let us ask the Lord to continue to bless our Holy Father and us, as well as those in need throughout the world. Be assured of my prayer-filled thanks for your ongoing generosity.
Fortaleciendo comunidades de fe en necesidad
Queridos Hermanos y Hermanas en Cristo:
Ser un Peregrino de Caridad es el tema de la Colecta de Peter’s Pence (2013 Peter’s Pence Collection) para los Trabajos del Santo Padre, que será colectado durante el fin de semana del 29-30 de junio.
La Caridad aguanta todas las cosas, creer en todas las cosas, tiene esperanza en todas las cosas y resiste todas las cosas. (1 Cor 13:7)
Hay muchos lugares alrededor del mundo en donde la iglesia lucha con ser visible con su caridad, pero da las gracias, el Padre Santo es el peregrino de caridad para los católicos en todo lugar. En los diócesis pobres en donde muchos dependen de la iglesia para apoyo social y pastoral, en regiones en donde los católicos son perseguidos por su fe; y en las naciones sobrecargadas de refugiados o víctimas de la guerra y desastres naturales, los trabajos hechos por el Santo Padre ayuda a la Iglesia extiende la caridad para los más necesitados.
La Colecta de Peter Pence da la oportunidad para ser peregrinos de caridad y para extender un signo de paz al Cuerpo de Cristo alrededor del mundo. Nuestras donaciones en la colecta anual ayuda al Santo Padre para fortalecer la diócesis, órdenes religiosas, y comunidades religiosas luchando cuando lo necesitan más.
Les pido que sean un peregrino de caridad y que done generosamente a esta colecta especial para los trabajos de caridad del Papa Francis quien depende de nuestro apoyo.
