Davenport – Eagles’ Wings Retreat Center will host the following class. From June 24-28 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily is an icon workshop with iconographer Leanne Spacek. Grand Mound – On May 31 and June 1, Father Bill Kneemiller will host a Ranger Rosary workshop in Ss. Philip & James Parish hall, 606 Fulton St. The sessions will run from 10:30 am to noon, and will include lunch, free samples of the Ranger Rosary, and instructions on how parishes can start a rosary-making club. Friday’s session will include Vacation Bible School students; families are invited. RSVP at (563) 847-2271.
LITURGY/PRAYER
Davenport — On June 2, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, Pope Francis will be celebrating an hour of eucharistic adoration in St. Peter’s Basilica at 5 p.m. Rome time. The Holy Father has asked that bishops around the world do the same, so Bishop Martin Amos will celebrate vespers with eucharistic exposition, adoration, and benediction at 5 p.m. June 2 at Sacred Heart Cathedral.
Muscatine – Ss. Mary & Mathias Parish is having the Feast of Corpus Christi Mass and procession on June 1 at 5 p.m.  The procession with the Blessed Sacrament will go out into the streets, followed by adoration with benediction.  A social gathering with refreshments will take place afterwards in Gannon Hall.  The church location is 215 W. Washington – St. James Parish invites people to the next healing Mass at St. James Church June 5. Confessions and the rosary begin at 6:30 p.m., and Mass is at 7 p.m. The evening includes adoration, praise, worship and prayers for healing.
MEETINGS
Davenport — The Grief Support Group at St. Anthony Parish welcomes anyone coping with the loss of a loved one to a nine-week program beginning June 4.  The group meets on Tuesdays from 3:30-5 p.m. at the school library at the far end of the church parking lot. Moline, Ill. – The Secular Discalced Carmelite Community of St. Joseph and the Prophet Elijah invites people to join in the study of prayer in the tradition of St. Teresa of Avila and St. John of the Cross. RETREATS
Wheatland —  Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat  invites people to the following spring events. On June 2 at 5 p.m. is a Taize Vigil Service, supper following. Churches of all faith traditions are invited. Freewill offering. On June 5 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. is “Summer Come to the Quiet,” $20. Lunch is included. Bettendorf – The Women’s Choice Center of the Quad-Cities will host the motorcycle Charity Ride for Life on June 8.  The ride will begin and end at the Women’s Choice Center, 2711 Happy Joe Drive, with registration at 9 a.m. Destination is the Candlelight Inn in Clinton. Proceeds benefit the Women’s Choice Center.  A silent auction will be held at 10 a.m. Door prize drawings will take place throughout the day.  Register at www.qcride4life.org. The pre-registration fee is $30 per bike plus $10 for an additional rider.  Riders may also register the day of the event for $35 per bike, plus $10 for an additional rider. Davenport – Our Lady of Victory Parish welcomes donations of used items in good condition for its June rummage sale. The parish cannot accept large exercise equipment, TVs, computers, large kitchen appliances, baby furniture that does not meet new safety requirements and used infant car seats. Items may be dropped off at the John F. Kennedy school gymnasium on June 8-9 from noon to 3 p.m., June 10 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., June 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or June 12 from 8-10 a.m. The sale will be held at the JFK school gym on June 13-14 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and June 15 from 8 a.m. to noon. Sugar Creek – Ss. Mary & Joseph Parish invites people to its 158th annual Corpus Christi celebration on June 1 at 4:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Church, 3218 110th St., Preston. Mass will be followed by a procession to four outdoor chapels. The Altar and Rosary Society will serve a meal afterwards in the parish hall.
