The Diocese of Davenport will celebrate the ordination of a new priest Saturday, May 25. Deacon Jacob Greiner will be ordained by Bishop Martin Amos during the 10 a.m. Mass at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Davenport. All are invited.
Deacon Greiner, 31, is a native of Keota where he attended elementary and high school. He said he first started thinking about the priesthood as a child. He attended Central College and then the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and philosophy. He finished his novitiate for the Congregation of Holy Cross in August 2007 and left the congregation two months later.
