Clinton — A discussion of what today’s Church is asking of the Vatican II generation will begin at Prince of Peace Church on May 9 from 6:30–8:30 p.m. in the family room. This conversation will focus on Scriptural references for contemporary issues while exploring the history and evolution of Church teachings.
Davenport – The St. Ambrose University Health Careers Adventure Camp June 10-14, for students entering seventh and eighth grades, offers participants the opportunity to learn about a variety of health professions through hands-on learning sessions provided by faculty and practicing clinicians. On-site supervision, T-shirt, team bag, daily snacks and lunch, transportation to and from job shadow experience and program costs are included in the program fee. Cost is $200 until May 15 and $225 after May 15. A $35 scholarship rate is available to students in the free or reduced lunch program. Davenport — A Soaking With a Purpose prayer meeting will take place at Eagles Wings on April 26 at 7 p.m.
Iowa City — People meet to pray the rosary and receive Communion at 1 p.m. Wednesdays at Melrose Meadows Retirement Community. All Catholics are welcome.
Melrose — The Knights of Columbus of Albia sponsor a 24-hour adoration the first Friday of the month at St. Patrick Church in Melrose. Mass begins at 8 a.m., followed by 24 hours of adoration, and closes with benediction at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday.
RETREATS
Wheatland — Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat invites people to the following spring events. On May 1 from 10 a.m. to noon is a mini-retreat beginning with Mass and including a variety of programs. Lunch to follow. Fee: $8. On May 5 is a Taize Vigil Service at 5 p.m. Taize draws Christians of all denominations together in unified prayer. Future services will be held the first Sunday of each month at 5 p.m. followed by a soup supper. On May 8 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. is “May Flowers Come to the Quiet.” Fee: $20. On May 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. is “Celebrating Mothers: A Perfect Gift for Mother’s Day” with Sister Judith Carrara, CHM. Bettendorf — St. John Vianney Parish will hold its annual garage sale May 17-18 in the parish activity center. Proceeds will support ongoing missionary work with St. John Vianney’s sister parish in Jean Denis, Haiti.
Davenport – The Development Committee of Humility of Mary Housing invites people to an evening of trivia games, a chance to bid on silent auction items and an opportunity to help homeless children. Humility of Mary Housing, Inc. is a supportive housing program for single parent families who have experienced homelessness. The games start at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 26, at the Golden Leaf, 2903 E. Davenport – All Saints Catholic School will hold a taco and bingo night April 27. Food starts at 4 p.m.; bingo starts at 6 p.m. Dinner cost is $7 or, for kids 10 and younger, $3. Bingo will include six cards and 18 games. Proceeds go to the eighth-grade class trip and a new commercial refrigerator.

Mount Pleasant — St. Alphonsus Parish Ladies for Charity will hold their annual rummage sale in Manning Hall April 25 from noon to 6 p.m., April 26 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and April 27 from 8 a.m. to noon.
