I am Sister Laura Goedken and I am a Dominican Sister. I presently work for the Diocese of Davenport. I attended Catholic grade and high school and then I began the process of becoming a Sister.
Growing up we always prayed before meals and went to Sunday Mass as a family. We prayed the rosary as a family during Advent and Lent. In grade school the Sisters told us to pray every day to know what God wanted us to do with our life and I did that. My faith was the fruit of our daily prayer. I think I took it for granted that I always had faith in God. I was always Catholic and all our friends were Catholic.
