Students trace family history through Lourdes school

BETTENDORF  —  Th­ou­sands of students have attended Lourdes Catholic School since it opened its doors as Lourdes Memorial School in 1919.
Today, some are first-generation students at the school while others are third or even fourth generation.
As part of a Catholic Schools Week project, students worked with their families to see how many relatives have attended the school over the years.
Principal David Hobin said there was interest in learning how many generations of families have gone through Lourdes since its beginning.
