LITURGY/PRAYER
Davenport – A holy hour for life, marriage and liberty will be held from 9-10 p.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral in the St. Margaret’s Adoration Chapel on the last Sunday of the month through October.  Call Jeanne Wonio at (563) 355-4188 for more information.
Iowa City – Bishop Martin Amos will preside at a Vespers for Life service on Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. at St. Mary Church. The service will last 30-40 minutes and will be followed by an opportunity to learn more about local pro-life activities through displays and booths.
Keokuk – There will be a pro-life Mass and rosary at 6 p.m. Jan. 22 at Church of All Saints.
MEETINGS
Bettendorf – The Women’s Choice Center at 2711 Happy Joe Drive is having a volunteer training session on Jan. 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The Center needs anyone willing to donate four hours or more.  Duties involve answering phones, data entry and working with clients. Davenport – The St. Anthony grief group  began its nine weekly meetings in the St. Anthony Parish Library on Dec. 4 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. For more information or to register, call facilitators Dennis at (563) 332-1396, Ginny at (309) 523-9251, or Nadine at (563) 391-5161.

Davenport — The first Catich Gallery show of 2013, “Race Matters? Racism Matters!” features the work of journeyman printer Amos Paul Kennedy, Jr. Part of St. Ambrose University’s yearlong project series on race, the show opens Jan. 15. An artist lecture will take place Jan. 25 from 4-4:45 p.m., in Galvin 141, followed by the opening reception and poster sale from 5-7 p.m. in the gallery. The show, which is free and open to the public, will run through Feb. 22. The gallery is in the Galvin Fine Arts Center and is open 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday-Friday, or by appointment.
Grand Mound – Ss. Phillip & James Church will hold an all-you-can-eat chili or chicken noodle soup supper Jan. 20 from 4-7 p.m. Cost is $6 for adults and $2.50 for children. Call (563) 847-7572 by Jan. 19 to preorder deliveries.
LeClaire – A Knights of Columbus spaghetti supper will take place Jan. 19 at Our Lady of the River Church Hall after 5 p.m. Mass. Cost: good will offering.
Ottumwa — St. Mary of the Visitation Parish is hosting its annual spaghetti dinner on Jan. 13 in the church hall, located at North Court and East Fourth streets.  The menu includes salad, French bread, spaghetti and meat sauce, cheesecake and beverage.  Serving times will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4:30 to 6 p.m.  Price is $8 for an adult, $4 for children ages 4-10 and free for children 3 and younger.  Call (641) 682-4559 or (641) 683-1537 for more information.  Carry-outs will be available.
Oxford – The Oxford and Cosgrove Knights of Columbus will hold a pancake, sausage and egg breakfast Jan. 13 at St. Mary’s Hall from 7:30 a.m. to noon. A free-throw contest for boys and girls ages 10-14 will take place upstairs at the same time.
