To the Editor:
A big cheer of affirmation and gratitude to The Catholic Messenger and Frank Wessling for his weekly editorial column. With thoughtful consideration and clarity Frank consistently addresses some of the most challenging issues facing us as Catholics and wrestles with the dilemmas they pose to those of us trying to discern the response we might make in faithfulness.
These are not easy issues – the political, ethical and moral questions of the public forum. Perhaps the uneasiness of some with the likes of Mr. Wessling lies in the lack of simple answers to complicated questions we are tempted to crave.
Thanks, Frank, for helping us to exercise the Vatican II call of the Spirit that we use the God-given grace of a well-formed conscience.
