KEOTA-Mary Catherine Finders, age 82, of Keota, died Saturday, September 1, 2012, at Maplewood Manor in Keota.
Mary was born June 6, 1930, near Harper, to Stephen and Nina (Lawson) Jaeger and graduated from St. Elizabeth High School. On June 6, 1949, she married Keith Finders at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. A homemaker most of her life, Mary cooked at the Keota Senior Center for about 10 years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, the Altar and Rosary Society, served on the church council and belonged to the Harper Women’s Club. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards and gambling.
Survivors include her husband: Keith of Keota; son: William (Sherri) Finders of Oskaloosa; daughter: Mary Pat Redlinger of Keota; three grandchildren: Aaron Finders, Trenton and Jade Redlinger; three great grandchildren and a sister: Patricia Havel of Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons: Stephen and Robert; two grandsons: Christopher and Adam; sister: Dolors Paetzold and brother: Paul Jaeger.
Memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at Holy Trinity Parish – St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota, with Rev. Charles Fladung officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be at Holy Trinity Cemeteries – St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Harper. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the church.
