Fundraiser for Jeff Pechous

Facebooktwittermail

IOWA CITY – Friends and family of Jeff Pechous, son of Ray and Mary Pechous, invite people to a fundraiser for Jeff on Oct. 6 from 1-5 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 4776 American Legion Road. The event will cover the cost of treatment and related expenses for Jeff, who was diagnosed with scleroderma last summer.
Hardening of the skin is one of the most visible symptoms of scleroderma. The standard medication is not working for Jeff. Without treatment, he will lose mobility due to his organs hardening.
But he has been approved for an innovative course of treatment to begin Oct. 16 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The treatment will include  chemotherapy and a stem-cell transplant.
The fundraiser will include a hog roast, snacks, soft beverages, children’s games, entertainment and a silent auction. Cash bar will be available. RSVP to mepechous6@gmail.com.
