Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Richard L. “Dick” Sinnott, 70, a resident of Davenport, will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2012 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 417 Main Street, Davenport.

Cremation rites will be accorded following the Mass.  Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, Davenport.  Dick died Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center, East Rusholme Street, Davenport.

Richard Leo Sinnott was born on July 2, 1941 in Georgetown, Iowa, a son of Leo and Alice (O’Brien) Sinnott.  He was united in marriage to Jo Ann Carr on April 18, 1964 in Albia, IA.  They have shared over 48 years of marriage together.

Dick worked for ALCOA for 36 years, retiring as an inspector in 2002.

Dick was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 4167, Albia, and the United Steelworkers Local 105.

Dick enjoyed time spent with his family and friends.  He also enjoyed mowing his yard, an “occasional” beverage while doing it.  He was a member of the Tuesday night leagues at Suburban Bowling Lanes for over 15 years.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Dick is survived by his wife, Jo Ann, Davenport; daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy (Mike) Collins, Blue Grass and Mandy (Casey) Hitchcock, Davenport; grandchildren: Kori and Jacob Hitchcock; sisters: Marge (John) Pasut, Albia, IA and Donna Proctor, Blakesburg, IA; a sister-in-law, Tish Sinnott, Albia; and many nieces and nephews.
